Sam + Mark’s Winter Wonderland
Thought I’d post this beautiful Winter Wonderland inspired wedding, as we’re feeling the winter blues coming on… But hold on to your seats, you’re in for such a treat! Samantha + Mark’s wedding is quite unique and special in the sense that they wanted a winter wedding, in South Africa, in a forest but the criteria was definitely: It must have snow! Obviously, being the wedding planner, this took some more thinking and planning, as we weren’t in Lesotho and the budget did not permit all of us to fly to the Appalachian mountains! But what magic! To have a glass box, literally in a forest, is what you find at Die Woud nestled against the mountains on the other side of Caledon. With the help of Cape Snow we created some actual snow, to give this wonderful feeling, and some special snowspray helped to transform the wedding arch into the real deal!
Our lovely DJ helped with some blue lighting to create the right ‘cold’ ambient atmosphere, some snow sprayed branches and lots of crystal decor elements completed the look. The ghost chairs also played their part in reflecting the blue light…so the overall effect came together beautifully. To finish off this pretty Winter Wonderful fairytale, was Samantha, in that amazing creation which looked like a crystalline snowflake pattern on the back of her dress! With a white winter cape to top it all off! I’m sure you’ll all agree, she looked like the ice-queen! Thank you to the amazing service providers without whom this day would not have been possible!
